Where it began…

An extensive house renovation, rekindled my love for doing up furniture which I dreamed would one day materialise into a business. I made that dream come true in 2015 when I launched Vintage Home Living in Hoskens Yard, Penzance.

Over the years I have repaired and re-finished hundreds of pieces of furniture, from junk yard finds to cherished family heirlooms. Handing back a customers finished piece has never ceased to be rewarding, nor the delight of supplying something to their exact requirements.

In 2016 I offered to be a supplier for a new brand of chalk paint. I found the product really lovely to use and still do. That brand is Frenchic❤️® and now the fastest growing chalk paint in the world with over 800 stockists. I’m now a very proud supplier of Frenchic❤️® !

I also became a supplier for Eco Solutions® brilliant water based paint stripper, called Home Strip® having previously used it during a house renovation. Later came Polyvine® water based varnishes when customers started to request it after seeing the results I was achieving with it.

A year later, I took on Earthborn🐝® paints to broaden my eco paint product offering and providing a solution for all paint decorating project needs.

2021 saw the addition of interiors fabrics when I agreed to purchase the premises of a former fabric retailer in the town and in June 2022, following extensive renovation the business re-launched as Whitney Carne in it’s new home – and also my home, as I live above the shop!
